Overview of assistantships and how to apply

The School of Technology's MS in Technology program is pleased to offer graduate assistantships to full-time graduate students enrolled  in the Masters in Technology program. A limited number of graduate assistantships are available for a semester or an academic year. Assistantships provide tuition waivers, access to laboratories, computer systems, and office space as deemed necessary. Graduate assistants support teaching and research activities within the School of Technology.

To be considered for a teaching or research assistantship students must do the following:

  1. Be accepted or enrolled full-time to the School of Technology's MS Technology program.
  2. To see if you meet the academic requirments, contact Mr. Jeff Cranstoun, Graduate Program Coordinator for the MS Technology program. jscranstoun@eiu.edu 
  3. Communicate with a potential sponsoring faculty member in the School of Technology as designated by Mr Jeff Cranstoun. The faculty member will indicate all roles and responsibilities for a position as well as performance expectations. After meeting with the faculty member, the faculty member will communicate with the graduate program coordinator on a possible recommendation.
  4. If recommended, fill out the online graduate assistant application on the Graduate School website.
