Parent-Child Clinic

The Parent-Child (PC) Clinic at 海角社区 provides high quality, evidence-based parenting strategies and individualized examples that parents can use with their children ages 2 to 7.

The PC Clinic is run by school psychology graduate students as part of their preschool assessment for prevention and intervention course (PSY 5023).

The PC Clinic includes two sessions. This clinic focuses on reading intervention, but other academic areas may be considered. Parents and guardians will learn how to implement specific strategies and then practice these skills with their children with graduate student clinician support.

School Psychology graduate students in their second year have completed several courses in advanced child development, consultation, and special topics in school psychology that have provided them with the knowledge and skills to effectively work with young children and their parents and guardians. Graduate student clinicians are supervised in PC Clinic by a licensed psychologist.

Age

Parents or guardians with children aged 2 to 7 are invited to participate. Exceptions may be made for children outside of this age range.
