Asian Studies Awards & Scholarships

Asian Studies Paper and Creative Work Awards

Any academic paper or creative work that deals with Asia or Asian America and was produced during the current academic year for an undergraduate course at EIU (or presented at a conference) will be accepted throughout the year prior to April 1.

Winners will be recognized at the annual awards ceremony with certificates and monetary awards. Winners are required to present their papers or creative works at the EIU conference on Asia toward the end of each academic year.

The deadline for submission is March 31. If you have any questions about the awards or the application submission process, please contact asian_studies@eiu.edu.

Asian Studies Leadership Award

The Asian Studies Program is accepting nominations for a leadership award for an EIU student whose contributions have made a positive impact on our campus to fulfill the mission of Asian studies: to promote education about Asia and take leadership in Asia-related programs and research. The award will be announced at the Asian Studies Awards Ceremony with certificates and monetary award.

The letter of nomination must include the nominee's full name, email, and a brief description of the nominee鈥檚 contribution toward the aforementioned mission of Asian Studies during the current academic year. Please send your nomination letter to asian_studies@eiu.edu by March 31.

Asian Studies Study Abroad Scholarship

The Asian Studies Program is accepting applications for Study Abroad Scholarship for EIU students. Eligible applicants will study in Asia as a partial fulfillment of their Asian Studies degree curriculum through EIU-Asia exchange programs or faculty-led programs in Asia.

Submit the statement of purpose and concrete plans to study abroad in Asia to asian_studies@eiu.edu by March 31.
