
Precision Ag Summit Event

The EIU Broadband READY Team is hosting a Precision Ag Summit to address digital literacy, economic and workforce development issues in the region. Of course it will showcase leading edge farming technologies.
In Illinois agriculture annually contributes $120 billion to our economy and supports 400,000 jobs.
The State Broadband Plan includes a strong focus on Precision Agriculture.
There will be speakers representing the Center for Digital Agriculture at the U of I, Illinois State, the Farm Bureau, the Benton Institute for Broadband & Society, leading equipment and ag supply services. Discussions will include information on opportunities to improve broadband in underserved rural areas.
Lunch is included at this free event.
The conference is organized in three tracks.
A - Agriculture applications and precision research
B - Broadband for Farmland (rural connectivity and return on investment)
C - Careers and Connections (education, training, internships, industry contacts)
Educators can earn 5 CPDH hours by attending and Lunch is included at this free event.
