<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">The Academy began at EIU in 2007 and now offers a wide variety of programs on topics that cover current events, the environment, history, wellness, culture and fine arts. The goal of the Academy is to provide educational opportunity for dialogue that helps individuals develop abilities to cope with the relentless change in our world. Single-session and multi-session classes are options, depending on the topic. A number of distinguished Eastern faculty, and local area experts, have taught classes over the years. Most classes are offered without charge, with a few exceptions. Discounted tickets for many Doudna performances are available to members. A gift Academy membership makes a unique present for friends or family that love to learn.</span></p>
