Subject: Reminder: EIU Student Password Policy Change

<p>All students will soon be required to change their EIU password on an annual basis (no less than one time per year).&nbsp; Information about this policy change can be found at http://www.eiu.edu/its/security/policies/ITS_Authentication_Policy_V1_5.pdf . When the policy takes effect, you will receive notifications beginning 20 days prior to your password expiring.</p><p>In order to assist in keeping your password current, EIU provides an online Password Management Tool.&nbsp; Enrolling in the tool allows you to utilize self-reset capabilities such as security questions, alternative emails, and registered mobile devices.</p><p>To enroll, please visit https://password.eiu.edu and login with your current EIU NetID and password, go to the &ldquo;Enrollment&rdquo; tab and register in the &ldquo;Security Questions&rdquo; and &ldquo;Verification Code&rdquo; sections.&nbsp; Information about the Password Management Tool can be found at http://www.eiu.edu/its/helpdesk/pmt/pmtinfo.php .</p><p>Enrolling now will make it easier in the future as the new policy is implemented and in instances where you might have forgotten your password.</p><p>If you need assistance with the Password Management Tool, please contact Campus Technology Support at 217-581-4357.</p>
