The Physics major at 海角社区 is designed for students who want to understand how the world works, from the smallest particles to the largest structures in the universe.
Physics is the foundation of modern science and plays a role in nearly every field, including engineering, medicine, technology, and environmental science. If you enjoy problem-solving, math, and exploring big questions about how things work, this major gives you the tools to do exactly that.
As a Physics student, you’ll study topics such as mechanics, electricity and magnetism, optics, quantum physics, and relativity. You’ll also develop strong skills in mathematics, data analysis, and scientific reasoning. Hands-on learning is a key part of the experience, with lab work and opportunities to participate in research alongside faculty.
At EIU, you’ll learn in small classes taught by faculty who are dedicated to teaching and mentoring. You won’t be lost in large lecture halls. Instead, you’ll work closely with professors who support your academic and professional goals and help you build confidence in your abilities.
You can also tailor your degree through concentration options in Astronomy, Computational Physics, or Engineering Physics, depending on your interests and career goals.
Graduates of the program are well prepared for graduate school, teaching, or careers in a wide range of fields that value strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
