The chemistry minor allows students to add significant exposure and experience with chemistry to their major degree, and requires only 21 credit hours. There are two tracks, where all minors take the year-long general chemistry sequence plus quantitative analysis.
Track I students then take the 1-semester survey organic course plus 2 other upper level chemistry courses as electives. Track II students take instead the year-long organic sequence, plus only 1 upper chemistry course as elective. More students pursue Track II than Track I.
Pre-medical, pharmacy, physician's assistant, and veterinary students will find that usually they only need to take the quantitative analysis course beyond their pre-health chemistry courses in order to obtain the minor.
