EIU Departments, Colleges and Faculty/Staff are invited to decorate their main buildings, offices, lobbies, windows, walls, doors, front desks, and cafeterias in a friendly competition for the EIU Homecoming Real Panthers Decorate Blue Competition.

Please complete this application by 11:59PM on Friday, Oct. 2.

Displays must be completed by 4:30PM on Monday, Oct. 12 and judging will take place Tuesday, October 13 from 1PM-4:30PM.

Rules/Regulations

The Real Panthers Decorate Blue contest is meant to promote EIU pride and spirit. The following rules apply to all entries competing/non-competing:

There are 3 categories of competition that include: EIU Offices/Depts., Residence Halls/Greek Court and Cafeteria/Food Court.

Entries shall provide their own supplies and materials. Usage of materials may require administrative or departmental approval.

Entries must demonstrate EIU pride and school-spirit in nature that incorporate the use of EIU name, logos, mascots and HC Hollywood Theme 鈥� 鈥淟ights, Camera, Panthers!鈥� EIU Homecoming 2026.

Entries should not use decorations that impede university access, entrances, or egress.

Entries should not interfere with academic teaching or learning.

Entries should adhere to fire safety code and signs/exits must remain visible and operational.

Entries cannot use materials that will damage university doors, walls, furnishings, windows.

NO nails, tacks, duct tape or staples may be used and all adhesives used must be fully removable.

Entry decorations may not impede the usage of the space or compromise ADA compliance or pose a safety hazard. Decorations must be fire retardant.

NO glitter, confetti, glue or other similar items may be used without prior administrative approval.
