Cybersecurity (B.A.A.S.)

The online Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (B.A.A.S.) in Cybersecurity emphasizes the study of security principles including infrastructure, forensics, evaluation of risks, and security influence on business operations. This degree prepares professionals for data and information security, hardware and software security, and systems and network security. Students may earn up to 12 semester hours through Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) and/or internship. CPL may be used to gain credit for required and/or elective courses in the major. For students who hold IT/cyber-related professional positions, internship hours can be completed by working on special projects for the student's employer.

Admission Requirements

The online Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (B.A.A.S.) in Cybersecurity is a completion program designed for IT/Cybersecurity professionals or those with related college coursework. Program admission is granted to applicants who:

-Have earned a minimum of 30 transferrable (C or better) college credit hours of IT/Cybersecurity technical coursework,

-Have a minimum of three years of full-time work experience in IT/Cybersecurity,

-Possess at least one of the following certifications (other cybersecurity certifications will be reviewed individually to determine admission into the program):

CompTIA Security+
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST)
GIAC Information Security Fundamentals (GISF)
ISC2 Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)
ISC2 Information Systems Security Management Professional (ISSMP)
EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
