Philosophy Honors Program

Departmental Honors Requirements

Twelve semester hours in non-General Education Philosophy Honors courses.聽 Any Honors course numbered from 4444 to 4666 may be repeated for a maximum of six hours.聽 Repeating a course requires permission from the Departmental Honors Coordinator.

Students must take at least three credits in Honors Thesis and complete all other requirements for the major.聽 Six credits in Honors courses numbered 4444 to 4666 may be used to聽replace six credits of philosophy electives.聽 Students in the Philosophy program must maintain an overall GPA of at least 3.50.聽 Honors Thesis supervision will be undertaken by a faculty member approved by the chair, the Departmental Honors Coordinator, and the student's faculty advisor.
