Get Educated on McHenry County's Award-Winning BBQ

Class is in session, and the lesson is delicious! Join us for an unforgettable barbecue experience as you discover the flavors that have made McHenry County a destination for award-winning BBQ.

Hosted by EIU alumnus Greg Imhoff, this special alumni event will take place on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, from 5:00–8:00 p.m. at Moontime Smokin' Que, located at 88 Railroad St., Unit A, Crystal Lake, IL 60014.

Guests will enjoy a buffet-style dinner featuring slow-smoked pulled pork, brisket, fresh side salads, and beer. A cash bar will also be available for additional beverages and spirits.

The evening includes an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the art of barbecue. The owner of Moontime Smokin' Que will demonstrate the preparation and smoking process in the smokehouse, sharing techniques and tips while answering your questions during an interactive Q&A session.

Whether you're a seasoned barbecue enthusiast or simply love great food, this is a unique opportunity to experience award-winning BBQ, learn from the experts, and connect with fellow Panthers in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
